Travel at Merit Academy Elementary School
Our field trips take learning outside the classroom and into the community and around the globe.
Throughout the year, students take field trips throughout California, but it has become a Merit tradition to end the school year with a week-long excursion. These field trips visit historical sites and museums that relate to the topics students have been learning about in History and Reading. Students can travel to places like Ashland, Los Angeles, New England, Washington DC, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Costa Rica, Panama, Galapagos Islands, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan.
In elementary school, the students travel to France and Italy to visit the palaces and museums to learn more about the European Middle Ages and the Renaissance. They also go to Stratford-upon-Avon, England, Ashland, OR, or Santa Cruz, CA, where they can watch live performances of Shakespeare’s plays.
