Travel at Merit Academy Middle School
Throughout the year, students take field trips throughout California, but it has become a Merit tradition to end the school year with a 10-day excursion.
These field trips visit historical sites and museums that relate to the topics students have been learning about in History. Students can travel to places like Ashland, Los Angeles, New England, Washington DC, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Costa Rica, Panama, Galapagos Islands, Germany, South Africa, Vietnam, Thailand, India, and Japan. In high school, the students travel to France and Italy to visit the palaces and museums to learn more about the European Renaissance. They also go to Stratford-upon-Avon, England, Ashland, OR, or Santa Cruz, CA, where they can watch live performances of Shakespeare’s plays. Our field trips take learning outside the classroom and into the community and around the globe.
